Important things for dogs and masters

for a good understanding

Rooms: Please understand that dogs are not allowed in our guest beds and on the sofa. Thank you for paying attention to this – for the sake of the next guest and hygiene.

Leash: Please remember to keep your pet on a leash throughout the hotel grounds.

Natural pond: For reasons of hygiene and out of consideration for other guests, it is not permitted to enter the natural swimming pond. The hotel’s own apple orchard offers plenty of space to run around on 4000m2! The banks of the Raab, whose footpath leads directly past the hotel, offer opportunities for cooling off and refreshment!

Restaurant: Please let us know if you would like to take your four-legged friend with you to the restaurant – we will be happy to reserve a table for you in the designated restaurant area!

Perfect for letting off steam

The nature rooms are equipped with wooden floors and offer a spacious terrace right next to our orchard – open the door and out into the meadow! Here you will find plenty of space to walk, play and have fun with your dog on over 4,500 m². The hotel is surrounded by the most beautiful hiking and walking trails.

Excursion destinations

Dog-friendly excursion tips in the region:

Hiking paradise Raabklamm gorge
The Natura 2000 European nature reserve is one of the most beautiful hiking areas and, at 17 kilometres, the longest gorge in Austria. This natural jewel delights with its incredible fauna and flora and, with its crystal-clear water and shallow banks, is also a true paradise for your dog.

Herberstein Animal Park
Over 130 animal species from 5 continents can be marvelled at on a network of trails covering over 6 km. The best thing about it: your four-legged friend can accompany you on a short lead – treats, a dog wash station and dog drinking troughs throughout the park included.

Zotter Schokoladen Manufaktur
While you enjoy the sweet world of Josef Zotter, dog kennels are available for your four-legged friend in the “Hunzdorf” 100 metres away. Your dog must be kept on a lead when visiting the edible zoo!

Schöckl cable car
A very special local recreation area with all-round panoramic views over Graz, the Almenland and the Raabtal valley. Take the cable car up to the plateau of Graz’s local mountain in comfort.

Teichalmsee
Breathe in the Alpine air – together with your four-legged companion! Right next to the Teichalmsee lake, where your dog can enjoy a refreshing dip, is one of the last mountain pine raised bogs in Austria. You can hike along the moor nature trail and float on mountain pine piles.
