Check-in and check-out times

CHECK-IN: Your room is ready for occupancy from 2 pm on the day of arrival. If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to use our wellness area and the natural swimming pond free of charge from 12 noon. Our changing rooms with lockable lockers (with bathrobe) are available for this purpose.
CHECK-OUT: Please vacate your room for the next guest by 10.30 am on the day of departure. Afterwards you can use our wellness area and the natural swimming pond until 3 pm at no extra charge.

Which vouchers do you offer?

With Ochensberger’s gift vouchers you give valuable time for enjoyment and relaxation! We have a large selection for you:
Value vouchers, restaurant vouchers for dinner for 2, barrel-art menu, winegrower’s evening, gourmet breakfast from the buffet, day spa admissions, massages, overnight stays with breakfast and 4-course menu and much more.
You can easily print out vouchers online in our webshop at home and pay by credit card or you can visit us in person at the hotel reception – Mon-Sat from 11.00-17.00, Sun from 11.00-15.00.
Our package vouchers remain valid for 1 year at no extra charge and are then converted into a value voucher.

Can I drink the tap water in the hotel?

Yes, our water is so valuable and always drinkable. Throughout the hotel, fresh energised Aquavit water from the Weizer Bergland flows from all the pipes. The drinking water from our fountain in the hotel courtyard comes from the hotel’s own spring.
And please drink at least 2 litres of water a day!

Are dogs allowed in the hotel?

Well-behaved and house-trained dogs are very welcome at the Garten-Hotel! We only reserve our natural rooms with wooden floors for your stay with your dog. Those on the ground floor with terrace lead directly into the apple orchard, where your four-legged friend has plenty of space to run around! You will also find beautiful hiking & walking trails around the hotel across meadows, through forests and along streams – a paradise for dogs.
You will find the hiking map in your room or at reception.

We charge a cleaning fee of €25 per day for your dog. We will also provide practical items in your room: Dog blanket, bowl with fresh water, dog toy, welcome treats and a „Martin Rütter“ reading material worth knowing for the master.

What rules apply to my dog?

Rooms: Please understand that dogs are not allowed in our guest beds or on the sofa. Thank you for taking care of this – for the sake of the next guest and hygiene. If the room is very dirty, we will charge additional costs depending on the amount of work involved (Eur 40.00 per working hour).

Leash: Please keep your dog on a leash throughout the hotel grounds.

Natural pond: For reasons of hygiene and for the sake of other guests, dogs are not permitted in the natural swimming pond from April to the end of October. The hotel’s own apple orchard offers over 4500m2 of space to run around! The banks of the River Raab offer opportunities to cool off and refresh yourself – the footpath leads right past the hotel! You also have direct access to the Raab at the hotel car park opposite.

Restaurant: Please let us know if you would like to bring your four-legged friend to the restaurant – we will be happy to reserve a suitable table for you.

Should I take out travel cancellation insurance?

For your protection, should your travel plans change at short notice, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance.

How can I pay my invoice?

We accept payment in cash, by Visa, Mastercard or EC card.

For business trips:

If you would like your company’s accommodation costs to be covered, please send a written request to gartenhotel@ochensberger.at.

I am travelling late. How long is reception open?

The hotel reception is open Monday to Saturday from 6.30 am to 10.00 pm and Sunday and public holidays from 7.00 am to 9.00 pm. Please let us know if you are arriving late. We will prepare your room key and all important information for you.

Is my child allowed in the wellness area?

Our wellness area stands for peace and relaxation. This is precisely why many guests arrive without children. Please understand that children under the age of 15 are not permitted in our adults-only spa.

How far is the nearest airport from your hotel?

The airport „Graz Thalerhof“ is 32 km away from our hotel and can be easily reached via the A2 motorway in about 30 minutes.

Can I come to you by public transport?

St. Ruprecht train station is 200 metres from our hotel and we offer a very good train and bus connection to Weiz and Gleisdorf on weekdays from Monday to Friday. From there there are regular connections to Graz, Feldbach and Vienna from Monday to Sunday. If you don’t have a connection to St. Ruprecht from Gleisdorf, we will pick you up from Gleisdorf station free of charge.

Does the reservation involve a deposit?

Yes, we ask you to pay a deposit of 30% of the total amount booked – this makes your reservation binding.

Do you offer a shuttle service to Gleisdorf?

If you are travelling by public transport and do not have a train or bus connection from Gleisdorf to St. Ruprecht, we will pick you up personally and free of charge. Please book in advance!

Do you offer free hotel car parking?

We offer sufficient free parking spaces for all guests – the car park is located opposite our hotel.

Do you hire out bicycles?

We offer our hotel guests free cross bikes, which are available without reservation on a first come, first serve basis. We also have inexpensive e-bikes including helmets for hire – we recommend that you book in advance.
If you would like to take your own bikes with you, you are welcome to leave them in our bike and hiking base camp free of charge.

Do you have rooms with a connecting door?

No, but we can reserve 2 rooms next to each other, whereby the nature rooms with terrace offer a connection to the outside.

Do you have air-conditioned rooms in the building?

Our Raabtal rooms are air-conditioned. In addition, all seminar and event rooms, as well as our fitness room.

What are your breakfast times?

We offer our gourmet breakfast buffet from MO-SA from 06.30 – 10.00 and on SO/FT from 07.00 – 10.00.

Can you also cater for intolerances?

We are happy to cater for your intolerances – we always have lactose- and gluten-free products in house.
It’s best to let us know your requirements before you arrive so that we can be well prepared.

Do you offer alternatives for vegetarians and vegans?

We always offer vegetarian and vegan alternatives on our menu, at the breakfast buffet and for the 4-course gourmet menu (half board). If you would like to eat purely vegan, please let us know before you arrive so that we can prepare for your wishes.

How long can I cancel my reservation free of charge?

You can cancel your room reservation free of charge up to 21 days before your arrival date. Please send us a written cancellation by email.
In the event of a later cancellation or no-show, we will charge a cancellation fee which will be deducted from your booked arrangement:
– from 3 – 1 week before arrival: 50%
– from 7 – 2 days before arrival: 75%
– from 2 days before arrival: 90%
We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance with Europäische Reiseversicherung, which covers the costs in the event of illness. You can easily take out this insurance online together with your booking.

Do you offer free Wi-Fi in the hotel?

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

Do you have rooms for allergy sufferers?

In this case, we offer you our natural rooms with wooden floors. Our pillow menu also gives you a choice of different pillows, all of which are suitable for allergy sufferers. We also offer an anti-allergy duvet.

Is there a minibar in the room?

As a hotel and holder of the EU-Eco label, we are required not to offer minibars for reasons of sustainability. These small minibars are big power guzzlers, cost the same as large domestic fridges and many drinks regularly expire.
We do not charge an additional fee for drinks in room service!

Do you have accessible rooms?

Our dining facilities, all seminar rooms, the hotel spa and the garden are barrier-free. The rooms are only partially accessible for wheelchair users. Please let us know your personal requirements when making your enquiry so that we can find a suitable room for you.

Can I book my stay with you including half board?

Yes, of course! Our half-board includes a delicious 4-course gourmet menu with 4 main course options at a price of Eur 34.00 per person/as of 2023. If you would like to eat out, we offer you a full discount on the menu price – please let us know at reception by 10am on the same day.
