Natural jewel Raabklamm
The Raabklamm is the longest continuous gorge in Europe and has been declared a European nature reserve due to its protected caves and endangered bird species. Over 17 kilometres, you can experience a true natural wonder in this local recreation area. Divided into the Great and Small Raab Gorge, there are many entry and exit points – including refreshment stops, of course!
Five well signposted hiking trails, with varying degrees of difficulty, lead through a pristine and authentic landscape. In and around St. Ruprecht an der Raab, in the middle of the Raab Valley and not far from Graz, there are many opportunities to go on short and long hikes and walks. You can pick up your personalised map with all the tours free of charge at the hotel reception!

Burgthannerweg
Distance: 3 km - Duration: 0:45 - 1.15 hours - Elevation gain: 98 m
The romantic circular hiking trail is named after the partner municipality of Burgthann and leads from the main square along the beautifully landscaped Raaballee via a picturesque forest path to the Stefaniequelle, whose spring water is said to have a healing effect on eye complaints. Shady power spots in the forest invite you to recharge your batteries. You return to the village along enchanting apple orchards with views of St. Ruprecht.
Panorama trail
Distance: 9.6 km - Duration: 2:30 - 3:30 hours - Elevation gain: 276 m
This hike takes us from the main square via the Hubertus Chapel with a wonderful view of the Raabtal valley through the wooded landscape of Kühwiesen. Small footbridges and streams make the route a delightful journey. We return via Wollsdorf or hike via Albersdorf-Prebuch to Gleisdorf. Tip: Visit the peace grotto on the main square, the centrepiece of which is a wooden sculpture created by artist Hans Pendl. Another highlight is the Steirerkraft Kernothek in Wollsdorf

Breiteggerweg
Distance: 7.7 km - Duration: 1:45 - 2:15 hours - Elevation gain: 195 m
Past the church, we head towards Breitegg. Along the wayside shrines of the Kalvarieberges we reach the Breitegg pilgrimage church. We return via the beautifully laid out settlement of Oberstadl, surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards. Tip: If we walk towards Weiz after the church, we pass the Gansrieglhof wine tavern. If we turn right into the forest at the church, we reach the village of Unterfladnitz via the beautifully designed Way of the Cross.
Rauchenbergweg
Distance: 10.7 km - Duration: 2:30 - 3:30 hours - Elevation gain: 311 m
This particularly charming hike takes us from the main square along the Raaballee to the Stefaniequelle spring. It continues uphill to marvellous apple orchards and past the Mauthner fruit farm. We return to St. Ruprecht via the district of Winterdorf with the beautifully situated Freiberg Golf Club. Tip: An excursion to the golf course and Freiberg Castle, which is well worth a visit, offers wonderful views and vistas. We can also hike from here towards Glesidorf

This wonderful themed trail takes you past the wood carvings of the famous St. Ruprecht artist Hans Pendl over a distance of approx. 11km in 4 hours and connects the two hiking trails “Burgthannerweg” and “Kernkapellenweg”.
The 7 places: Peace Grotto – Stefanie Spring – Blessing Place for Children – Hubertus Chapel – Kern Chapel – Arndorf Prayer Chapel – Art Park.
The tour is also marked with stickers on the yellow hiking boards – as the tour crosses in the centre of the village, the route can also be hiked in 2 stages!
